Richard Raymond, Canada

Richard Raymond is the laureate of several prestigious international piano competitions including the Vianna da Motta (Macao, 1999), William Kapel (United States, 1998), and Van Cliburn (1993) competitions. He has also won numerous Canadian prizes, including First Prize at the Montreal International Piano Competition. Raymond was also awarded the Canada Council for the Arts’ Virginia Parker Prize (1998).

Richard Raymond’s recitals and concerts are consistently met with overwhelming praise and enthusiasm.  He has performed with all the great Canadian orchestras and, internationally, has performed in Germany, China, the United States, Taiwan, Mexico, Brazil, Georgia, Italy and France.

Richard Raymond is a faculty member at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal. He studied with masters such as Leon Fleisher, John Perry, Marc Durand, Lise Boucher et Antoine Reboulot.
